Certification of Excellence in Pelvic Health

Our Pelvic Health Certification is a continuing education program designed to enhance skill and proficiency in pelvic health rehabilitation, with a focus on incontinence, bowel dysfunction, and internal and external pelvic pain conditions.

Objectives of the Pelvic Health Certification:

  • Demonstrate a high level of skill and proficiency with rehabilitative
  • techniques for patients within the Pelvic Health or Obstetric specialty.
  • Instruct patients in exercises, self-treatment tools, and behavior modification
  • strategies for symptom management.
  • Implement best practices to support organizational objectives related to
  • metrics and key process indicators.
  • Promote the growth of rehabilitative care for these specialties to patients,
  • clinicians, the local community, and referral sources through marketing
  • initiatives.
  • Advance specialty knowledge, evidence-based care, and education through the
  • presentation of a case study.

Requirements to complete this Certification:

  • Recommended completion within 16 months of registering for the certification. (Extended completion dates are based on approval)
  • Complete all required courses + 1 pelvic health elective course.
  • Participate in all labs, or work with the course instructor for reasonable
  • accommodation.
  • Complete the required assignments, including post-course quizzes with a
  • passing score (70% or higher), participation in an online discussion board,
  • and a case presentation
Pelvic Floor -1
  • Fundamentals of pelvic floor anatomy and function.
  • Basic assessment and treatment techniques.
Pelvic Floor -2
  • Advanced pelvic floor rehabilitation methods.
  • Complex case management.
Pelvic Pain
  • Comprehensive approach to managing pelvic pain syndromes.
  • Multidisciplinary treatment strategies.
Introduction to Bowel Dysfunction
  • Evaluation and management of bowel dysfunction.
  • Pelvic floor therapy for bowel disorders.
