This one-hour self-study continuing education course will focus on teaching clinicians about the anatomy, pathophysiology, and evidence-based rehabilitation concepts for Posterior Tibial Tendon Dysfunction (PTTD) patients in the clinic.

Target Audience: PTs, PTAs, ATCs

Instructional Level: Beginners, Intermediate

Instructional Methods: Online video with PowerPoint

Course Completion Requirements: must complete the entire 1-hour course and complete the post-course test

Course Objectives

  • Facilitate discussion and critical thinking in the outpatient community
  • Consider a new treatment approach for someone with a similar diagnosis
  • Perform an evaluation including patient history, outcome measures, PMH, body chart, hypothesis list, special testing, and objective information
  • Develop a POC including treatment selection, manual therapy techniques for joint mobility and soft tissue mobility, and discuss patient response to treatment
  • Explain creative problem solving and critical thinking for each visit
  • Discuss current literature supporting treatment selection
