Yoga Intervention for Low Back Pain

This one-hour self-study continuing education course will focus on discussing yoga as an intervention for low back pain. The goal of this presentation is to educate practitioners on how to incorporate yoga within a clinical setting for patients with non-specific low back pain. Additionally, this can also be used by clinicians as an intervention for their own low back pain.

Target Audience: PTs, PTAs, ATCs

Instructional Level: Beginners, Intermediate

Instructional Methods: Online video with PowerPoint

Course Completion Requirements: must complete the entire 1-hour course and complete the post-course test

  • Discuss the benefits of yoga interventions in populations with LBP
  • Identify patients with low back pain that would benefit from yoga as an intervention
  • Develop a HEP to include yoga exercises to address low back pain
  • Discuss the current literature supporting yoga as a treatment selection for low back pain
