This certification offers Physical Therapy Assistants the opportunity to expand their knowledge. The CORA Institute for Clinical Excellence Physical Therapy Orthopaedic Certification provides an evidence-based approach to clinical practice and management of orthopedic disorders. This certification incorporates an eclectic approach to management. PTAs can learn a practical approach to intervention that focuses on producing the best clinical outcomes. The course will utilize manual techniques, including mobilization, soft tissue, and muscle energy as well as and exercise performance. These are hands-on, lab-intensive courses with supervised practice and case-based application.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this certification participants will be able to:
- Make evidence-informed decisions in clinical practice.
- Identify pertinent aspects of the anatomy and its relationship inaccurately implement manual techniques.
- Apply theory to advance exercise prescription and progression for patients with orthopedic conditions.
- Enhance your critical thinking decision-making for excellent patient outcomes.
- Design a comprehensive and evidence-based treatment plan of care for patients with dysfunction including appropriate intervention.
- Demonstrate interventions including thrust, non-thrust, soft-tissue, neural mobilizations, PROM techniques, and exercise intervention for each body region.
Prior to the application for the CORA Institute for Clinical Excellence Physical Therapy Orthopedic Physical Therapist Assistant Certification, the candidate must have successfully

Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Lower Quarter
Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Cervical Spine
Comprehensive Evaluation and Management of the Thoracic Spine and Ribs
Comprehensive Evaluation and Management Upper Quarter
3. Pass the online tests associated with each of the courses
4. Complete Clinical Communities Discussion Board Post for each course
5. Pass a LIVE practical examination.
